Mental Health Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to provide high-quality care to our patients, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing skilled, evidence-based nursing care to patients with mental health conditions
- Working with patients and families to assess risks and needs, and develop care plans
- Acting as a patient advocate in the multidisciplinary team, and overseeing the work of others to ensure high-quality care
- Working autonomously, taking responsibility for patient care within your scope of practice and competency
- Contributing to creating and maintaining high-performing teams through effective communication, reflection, and continuous improvement
Person Specification:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and amendments
- Knowledge of the NMC Code of Conduct and the Care Programme Approach Framework
- Ability to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy, using good communication skills
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, using initiative under minimal supervision
- Understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems, and ability to provide person-centred care
