About the Role

Aspens Services Ltd, a leading contract catering company, is seeking an experienced Culinary Team Leader to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the operational and financial running of the company's school catering facilities, focusing on delivering high-quality food and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of kitchen staff, providing coaching, training, and motivation to ensure excellent performance.
  • Assist with catering operations, including stock management, food costs, and labor expenses.
  • Ensure consistency of food and service standards across all school catering facilities.
  • Develop and implement monthly promotions and added-value events to drive sales.
  • Oversee menu development, ensuring it meets the company's standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain company systems and procedures, adhering to health and safety regulations and legislation.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure standards are being met.

About You

We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service to our schools. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Craft-based experience using fresh ingredients.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Basic financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience working in a similar environment.

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of £13.50.
  • A 17.5-hour workweek, Monday to Friday during school term time, with no late nights.
  • 38 weeks of paid leave per year, based on term time.
