About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Homelessness Prevention Specialist to join our Modern Slavery Response Team at Hestia Housing Support. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist support and guidance to advocates working with service users who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert knowledge and support to advocates on housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act and homelessness eviction and tenants' rights.
  • Work closely with local authorities and other homeless stakeholders to ensure effective support and interventions for service users.
  • Hold housing advice clinics and drop-ins to support advocates in managing complex housing cases.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and solve homelessness for service users.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve high-quality client work and results in a fast-paced and outcome-focused environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with housing and homelessness legislation, including private rented housing, local authority housing, and homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and the public.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex work projects and own workload in line with service standards and Hestia values.
  • Ability to use computer systems, including databases, as part of your day-to-day work.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to record good-quality data, case notes, plans, and outcomes accurately and timely.
