About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Technology (OT) Field Engineer to join our team at Anglian Water Services. As an OT Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our telemetry service, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operational plant and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, configure, and commission OT hardware, systems, and networks to monitor and control operational plant and processes on Water and Water Recycling sites.
  • Undertake fault diagnosing, cause, and resolution (repair/replacement) of Operational Technology (OT) field equipment, networks, and systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities, including battery replacement, UPS maintenance, UHF scanner calibrations, and software configuration backups.
  • Provide 24x7x365 standby cover within your work region and cross-boundary as required.
  • Undertake minor modifications and changes to process automation and control systems to support regulatory compliance and process continuity.
  • Provide technical support to other operational teams in the diagnosis of instrumentation and control issues.
  • Perform firmware and software upgrades/patching of OT equipment to maintain security controls and compliance.

Requirements

  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of OT Telemetry Outstations/Automation hardware/software/protocols, SCADA, and industrial communication/control networks used within the water industry.
  • Education to HNC/HND (or equivalent) level or time-served experience in maintenance, commissioning, or field service of electrical, instrumentation, or telecommunications systems with a City and Guilds/NVQ level 3 electrical qualification.
  • Experience or formal training in programming and fault finding on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or process control equipment would be an advantage.
