What You'll Be Doing:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects, with a strong emphasis on automation and robotics, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Design Excellence: Drive innovation in mechanical design, utilising the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration and delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


What They're Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a mechanical design leadership role, with a strong track record of successful project delivery, ideally in Automation but definitely Manufacturing.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles, tools, and software. (SolidWorks for CAD).
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a knack for motivating and developing talent.
  • Problem-Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Excellent Communicator: Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members, stakeholders, and clients.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in mechanical design, with at least a few years in a leadership role.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications are a plus, particularly those related to automation and robotics.
