Custody Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Justice Practitioner to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Custody Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality assessments and support to individuals coming into contact with the criminal justice system.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals in custody to identify their health and social care needs.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans to ensure individuals receive the necessary support and services.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including police, probation, and mental health services, to ensure seamless care coordination.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on health and justice issues.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to health and justice.

• Registered Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, or Social Worker with a strong background in health and justice.
• Post-registration experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of working with vulnerable populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health NICE Guidelines and the NMC Code of Conduct.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
