Job Overview

The Learning Support Assistant plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive educational environment for students with special educational needs. This position involves working closely with educators to ensure that all students receive the necessary support to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with special educational needs in navigating their learning experiences.
  • Support teachers in executing tailored educational plans for individual students.
  • Provide assistance with personal care and mobility requirements as needed.
  • Track and document student progress and behavioral patterns.
  • Engage with teachers and families to cultivate a nurturing educational atmosphere.
Essential Qualifications:
  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Experience in working with children or young individuals.
  • Familiarity with special educational needs and inclusive teaching methodologies.
Educational Requirements:

A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is required.

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar educational role is essential.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy when engaging with students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Certification in First Aid.
Work Environment:

This position is based in a classroom setting, focusing on students with special educational needs. The role may involve providing personal care and mobility assistance. Full-time hours are expected during school term periods. While the environment can be challenging, it is also immensely rewarding.
