We are seeking to appoint a Supported Housing Improvement Project Officer to enhance our Housing Solutions initiatives on a fixed-term basis.
Derbyshire County Council, in collaboration with various Derbyshire Local Authorities, has successfully obtained funding from the Department of Levelling up Housing and Communities aimed at elevating standards within supported accommodation and enhancing the quality of both the facilities and the assistance provided. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to significantly impact the lives of some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.
We are in search of a proactive, professional, and enthusiastic individual to spearhead a multi-disciplinary team and oversee the execution of the supported housing improvement initiative (SHIP) throughout South Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the challenges encountered by residents in supported accommodation and will be instrumental in enhancing the quality and availability of supported housing in the South Derbyshire region.
You will collaborate with a diverse team comprising Environmental Health, Planning, Housing Solutions, Community Safety, and Housing Benefits. The successful applicant will serve as the primary contact within the partnership area, facilitating the regulation and enhancement of the quality of supported accommodation across South Derbyshire and adjacent local authority regions.
Candidates should exhibit confidence, self-motivation, and strong interpersonal and persuasive skills, along with a proven track record of establishing robust working relationships with colleagues, partners, and residents.
Experience in relevant fields such as support services, housing, social care, or benefits is essential.
A comprehensive understanding of supported accommodation and experience working with homeless individuals or those with complex needs is highly desirable.
