  • We have an excellent reputation in the city and beyond, with a thriving 68-bedroom hotel and a 100-seat restaurant.
  • We cater for hotel guests and non-residents from a strong local market, using local and seasonal products.
  • We also boast one of the largest Ballrooms in the city, perfect for various life events.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including operational, quality control, and administrative duties.
  • Lead and support the kitchen staff to maintain a well-organised and motivated team and positive working environment.
  • Control costs without compromising standards, aiming to improve gross profit margins and achieve departmental financial targets.
  • Assist other departments as needed and maintain excellent working relationships to ensure smooth operations of the hotel.
  • Run an efficient food service, ensuring food is of the highest standard before leaving the kitchen.
  • Place food orders with local suppliers and maintain stock levels.
  • Implement and manage suitable procedures for HACCP and EHO regulations.
  • Manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a sous chef or senior chef de partie.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality dishes.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading a kitchen team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of our guests.
  • A determination to continually improve and adapt.
