Job Title: Field Service Engineer

A leading brand in the supply and maintenance of construction machinery across the UK are seeking a skilled plant engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on machines at customer sites to ensure conformance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Attend breakdowns and conduct fault finding on machines.
  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork daily using a phone or tablet.
  • Submit daily timesheets and job cards.
  • Order parts accurately and work closely with the parts department.
  • Collaborate with the service supervisor.
  • Assist in training and mentoring apprentice engineers.
  • Perform inspections and repairs of machines at the depot as required, in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications, such as City and Guild, NVQ, or SVQ in Construction Plant/HGV/Light Vehicle, etc.
  • Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work.
