The Recruitment Crowd (Yorkshire) Ltd is seeking a skilled 7.5-tonne delivery driver to join our team in the Hinckley area. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating a 7.5-tonne delivery vehicle to make scheduled deliveries and collections for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 7.5-tonne delivery vehicle to make scheduled deliveries and collections for customers.
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently to complete around 60 drops per day, considering traffic, road conditions, and time constraints.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with customers during deliveries and collections.
  • Handle packages with care to prevent damage and ensure accurate delivery.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and digital documentation for each delivery and collection accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic and safety regulations, including securing loads and wearing appropriate safety gear.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers to provide updates on delivery progress and potential delays.
  • Assist with loading and unloading packages onto and from the delivery vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Category C1 driving license with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Have a valid and in-date Digital Tachograph card.
  • Have no more than 6 points on your license (minor offenses only).
  • Have a full understanding of Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
  • Proven experience within a similar role.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, such as manual handling of heavy parcels.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with the transport team.
  • Strong familiarity with local routes and areas.
  • Be hard-working, reliable, and flexible for hours.
