Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy, is on the lookout for a committed Building Physics Specialist to enhance their team. They focus on delivering Sustainability Planning Guidance, Building Regulations Consultation, Dynamic Simulation Modelling, and Energy Assessment Services for a diverse clientele including architects, contractors, developers, private clients, and local authorities across the UK.

As a Building Physics Specialist, you will collaborate with the existing sustainability team to develop and evaluate energy models for various projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting TM54 and Part O assessments on both new constructions and refurbishment projects.

Company Culture:
The organization promotes a supportive environment that encourages rapid career advancement, offering training and financial assistance for certification pursuits. They operate on a compressed 4-day work week totaling 36 hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Energy Modelling: Employ IES software to construct and assess energy models for building services initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Partner with M&E engineers to incorporate energy-efficient solutions into project designs.
  • Assessments: Execute TM54 and Part O evaluations.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to evaluate the performance and sustainability of building systems.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed reports and presentations to convey findings and recommendations.
  • Support: Offer expertise and assistance to the broader team to improve energy efficiency across all projects.
  • Continuous Learning: Remain informed about industry best practices and new technologies in energy modelling.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in IES software for energy modelling, specifically IES VE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Experience with SAP modelling is a plus.
