Our client, a world leader in the scientific and satellite/space industries, is seeking a highly experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with a strong understanding of optics and mechanical mounting to lead the design of mounting arrangements for optics and review designs from sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of mounting arrangements for optics and review designs from sub-contractors
  • Assist with requirements management of opto-mechanical technologies and requirement derivation and reviews
  • Conduct a range of opto-mechanical analysis, including tolerance, thermal, static, and dynamic analysis
  • Design mechanical components and support verification and testing
