This is a remarkable opportunity to become part of a dedicated research team focused on advancing the early detection of oesophageal cancer. The BEST4 platform trial is a significant national initiative supported by esteemed organizations, aiming to innovate diagnostic methods.

Role Overview

The Clinical Research Nurse will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing essential training for clinical procedures and nursing support for the BEST4 study. This role involves working in partnership with the Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) at a prestigious university.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to nursing staff in mobile units and secondary care environments regarding the Capsule sponge device.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Research Nurse and other clinical professionals on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related documentation.
  • Assist in participant recruitment, sample collection, data management, and clinical support to ensure timely and high-quality follow-up for positive test outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess a valid nursing qualification along with substantial post-registration experience in clinical research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill project objectives. A solid understanding of research methodologies, ethical considerations, and governance in clinical studies is crucial. Experience in clinical research and gastroenterology is advantageous.

Employment Details

This position is fixed-term, with funding secured for an initial period of three years. Successful candidates will undergo necessary background checks and must hold current professional registration.
