We are seeking a dedicated Materials Coordinator to enhance our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our manufacturing operations run smoothly by overseeing the entire material control process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the timely delivery of essential materials to manufacturing and supply chain functions.
- Engage with internal stakeholders through regular participation in production meetings.
- Enhance internal customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies related to material receipts, non-conformance issues, and other logistical challenges.
- Foster strong partnerships with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Meet specific performance targets set by the organization, focusing on production schedules, supplier performance, and inventory management.
- Continuously monitor supplier delivery metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Streamline internal processes to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain robust supplier relationships and optimal inventory levels.
Essential Qualifications:
- A level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in material control within a manufacturing setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data interpretation and problem-solving.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a systematic approach to analysis.
- Proficient in IT applications.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SAP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of the rail industry, both in the UK and internationally.
