Job Title: Adopt South West Family Practitioner

Fixed Term 12 Months (Maternity cover)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated family practitioner to join our team at Devon County Council.

You will be supporting the Recruitment Assessment and Family Finding Service covering the ASW region, working closely with children's child care teams across Local Authorities and providing advice and support in adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and families during the adoption process
  • Working closely with foster carers and social workers to gain an understanding of the child's past experiences
  • Keeping up to date and accurate electronic records of individual families
  • Participating and attending meetings as appropriate in relation to the families you work with

Requirements:

  • A level of autonomy and a basic understanding of the legal process
  • Relationship building skills, including communication and negotiation with multi-agency professionals
  • Assertiveness and ability to provide a level of challenge to ensure positive outcomes
