Job Title: Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician

SOCOTEC UK Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician to join our Environment and Safety Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ambitious growth plans and contributing to the delivery of our mission to build a safer and more sustainable world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor emissions from industrial processes to determine compliance with Environmental Permit requirements and obligations at client premises.
  • Maintain equipment, diagnose problems, and carry out repairs when required.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate technical reports for clients.
  • Work to SOCOTEC's Health & Safety Policies and customers' site rules and procedures contained in the SOCOTEC Quality Manual.
  • Undertake any equipment maintenance, calibration, or kit preparation tasks, as required, plus laboratory duties and report writing.
Requirements:
  • A degree or equivalent in an environmental/scientific discipline (desirable but not essential for the right candidate).
  • An interest to develop a career in stack emissions monitoring using manual sampling and instrumental analyzing techniques.
  • Experience carrying out electrical and/or instrumental repairs.
  • A desire to work outdoors and at heights on occasions at a variety of industrial locations, which can be physically and mentally challenging.
  • Availability to work away from home during the working week for some days during each month.
  • A full driving license, and a flexible and positive attitude.
