About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join our team at MCS Group. As a Research Officer, you will play a key role in providing timely, accurate, and high-quality research and analysis to support our legislative work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct objective, evidence-based research on EU decision-making and policy development.
  • Produce and deliver evidence-based findings to inform discussion and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a specialist knowledge of EU information sources, including official EU databases.
  • Provide research support to Members and Committees, including preparing research briefings and presentations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance parliamentary library and research services.
  • Contribute to the peer review of colleagues' research and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
Requirements
  • Hold a second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, with a focus on EU decision-making.
  • Have at least two years of work experience in conducting objective, evidence-based research and producing findings to inform policy development.
  • Demonstrate an applied knowledge of the Windsor Framework and EU information sources.
