This exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Health Care Support Worker to join the nursing team within the Surgical Receiving Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The unit is a fast-paced environment that requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses and the clinical team in the care of emergency receiving patients undergoing surgical assessment, investigation, and management.
  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient-centred care, adhering to the Code of Conduct.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must hold SVQ level 2 or be willing to complete it within the first year of employment. Relevant experience in a caring environment is also essential.

We offer a range of training opportunities to advance and develop your skills, with support from experienced team members. You will be required to achieve the mandatory induction standards for Health Care Support Workers in Scotland.

Working Arrangements

The shift pattern is rotational, with a variable shift pattern working a mixture of Early/Late/12 hour shifts. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community and promotes a culture of inclusion.

NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37 hours, with this reduction applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert reflects the new working hours.
