Based in our central Manchester office, you will acquire essential experience in a professional setting. This role involves working with the IS Projects and Training team, enabling you to cultivate critical skills in organization, communication, problem-solving, and time management.
About the GMC:
Our organization collaborates with healthcare professionals, patients, and various stakeholders to ensure high-quality, safe patient care throughout the UK. We establish the standards that doctors and their trainers must meet and assist them in achieving these benchmarks. If concerns arise regarding adherence to these standards or public trust in doctors, we are equipped to investigate and take necessary actions.

We are looking for individuals who are genuinely enthusiastic about making a positive difference. It is crucial to work effectively with colleagues who possess diverse skills and responsibilities. Our aim is to identify and nurture apprentices with significant potential, guiding you towards a successful and rewarding career. Over time, we aspire for our apprentices to evolve into future leaders within the GMC.
Role Location:
This position will be situated in our Spinningfields central Manchester office, conveniently located near public transport links. We offer a hybrid working model, incorporating both office and remote work. Initially, the role will be office-based until the induction period is completed.
Study Commitment:
You will have 6 hours each week dedicated to study. Weekly virtual training sessions will be provided by our apprenticeship partner. Additionally, you will be assigned a dedicated apprentice coach and a work-based manager to support you throughout your apprenticeship journey.
Working Hours:
The total working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, which includes your 6 hours of study time with the training provider. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:30.
Available Support:
Upon joining, you will be introduced to your team and apprenticeship provider. To facilitate your transition, you will have regular meetings with both your manager and apprenticeship coach to review your progress and ongoing training. You will also be part of our GMC Apprentice HUB, which provides:
- Access to a wealth of apprentice learning and development resources
- Networking opportunities
- Updates on upcoming development days
Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for this role, you must possess 5 GCSEs, including English Language and Maths (grades A-C or 9-4).
