Position Overview

We are seeking a committed and proficient Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer to engage in a rotation across General X-ray, CT, and MRI modalities at The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Our Imaging department boasts advanced equipment, including a Siemens Multitom Rax, multiple DR Mobiles, a Digital Fluoroscopy/DR Room, several Digital Mobile Image Intensifiers, an O-arm for neuro-navigation, along with Toshiba CT Scanners and a range of MRI scanners.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve executing a diverse array of specialized neuroradiographic procedures and supporting neuroradiological interventions throughout the facility. You will be responsible for managing workloads and prioritizing patient examinations as necessary.

Additionally, you will oversee the emergency neuroradiographic workload during on-call periods, ensuring effective service delivery and communication with all relevant professionals within and outside the Trust.

Accurate documentation of patient details on the department's radiology systems is essential, along with maintaining clear and precise records of all examinations performed.

We expect you to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and engage in Research and Development initiatives both internally and externally.

Participation in departmental audits, including Clinical Governance, Health and Safety, Risk Management, and service enhancement, is also required.

Compliance with national regulations and guidelines, including Ionising Radiation Regulations and Local Rules for Radiation Protection and Magnetic Resonance Safety, is mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a variety of radiographic modalities, particularly in neuroradiography including MR and CT.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications relevant to Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Understanding of recent NHS developments.
