Breast Imaging Radiographic Support Specialist

A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and proactive female Radiographic Department Assistant within the Breast Imaging sector. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and support in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist radiographers and radiologists in the Breast Unit, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort.
- Provide emotional support to patients undergoing breast imaging procedures, particularly those facing anxiety related to breast cancer investigations.
- Support ultrasound examinations and various aseptic procedures, including biopsies and aspirations, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage electronic and paper records from Mobile and Static Screening Units, ensuring accurate upload and verification of images in the PACS system.
- Facilitate the dispatch of specimens to pathology and maintain a safe environment for all patients and staff.
- Participate in departmental audits and contribute to policy reviews within the scope of competence.
Communication Skills
Excellent communication is vital, as you will interact with patients, addressing their concerns with empathy and understanding, particularly in overcoming language and comprehension barriers.
Training and Development
In-service training will be provided to enhance your skills and knowledge in this critical role.
Confidentiality
As part of your duties, you will handle sensitive patient information, which must be treated with the utmost confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
This position plays a pivotal role in the Breast Imaging team, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during their imaging experience.
