Safety Transformation Director

Job Summary:
The Irwin and Colton - HSE Recruitment team is seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead the safety function for The Scouts Association. As the Head of UK Safety Transformation, you will drive the right culture and practice throughout all scouting activities and within the HQ operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the safety function to develop and implement effective safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for scouting activities
- Collaborate with senior volunteers to embed a safety strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
- Provide expert advice and guidance on safety matters to the movement and its managers
- Represent the organization externally on safety-related matters, including liaison with regulatory bodies
Requirements:
- Chartered Member of IOSH with relevant qualifications
- Extensive experience in creating and driving positive health and safety strategies across a business
- Proven experience in leading high-risk activities and managing complex safety issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders, including volunteers and staff
- Knowledge of outdoor and adventurous activities, including residential experiences
- Flexible and pragmatic approach to work, including occasional weekend and evening work
