About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead our Safety Transformation initiative in the UK. As the Head of UK Safety Transformation, you will be responsible for driving a positive safety culture throughout our scouting activities and HQ operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the safety function to develop and implement effective safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for scouting activities
  • Collaborate with senior volunteers to embed our safety strategy and monitor its effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external regulatory bodies and stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on safety matters to the movement and its managers
  • Represent the organization externally on safety-related matters
Requirements
  • Chartered Member of IOSH with relevant qualifications
  • Extensive experience in Health and Safety, including leading high-risk activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and achieve compliance with safety requirements
  • Knowledge of outdoor and adventurous activities, including residential experiences
  • Flexible and pragmatic approach to work
