Job Title: Children's Home Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at a children's residential home. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the management team in implementing the care and support plans for young people, ensuring their emotional and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with care standards and regulations.
  • Provide support to young people with life skills and education, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements, ensuring the home meets the highest standards of care and support.
  • Protect young people from risks to their health, welfare, and development, both within and outside the home.
  • Provide effective leadership and team development, supporting staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Liaise with inter-agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee staff training and qualifications, ensuring staff are equipped to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Manage the home's expenditure and petty cash, ensuring financial management and accountability.
  • Ensure a safe environment, conducting regular property checks and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Be aware of safeguarding at all times, ensuring the protection of young people.
  • Participate in the on-call rota when necessary, providing support and cover for the management team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 in Children and Young People.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a children's residential home sector.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a senior in a children's home.
  • Experience of working with complex and emotional behavioral needs in young people.
  • Understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Knowledge of current governing legislation and procedures for caring for children.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Salary and Extra Payments:

£29,120 per annum plus sleep-in payments.
