Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a comprehensive business continuity management system across the organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Regulatory Services Manager on emergency planning and matrix management with the Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager on business continuity. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:- Developing, implementing, and exercising a business continuity management system across the organization.
- Providing guidance and support to Heads of Service and Business Continuity Leads to develop, maintain, and review their business continuity arrangements.
- Representing the business unit internally and externally on all emergency planning related issues, deputizing for the Emergency Planning Officer as necessary, and building good relationships with relevant external partners and partnerships.
- Maintaining the council's emergency response plan.
- Organizing and facilitating regular emergency planning exercises and ensuring that staff are trained in accordance with the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience, a professional business continuity/operational resilience qualification, and excellent understanding and experience of BCM/EP principles and best practices. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, a hands-on approach, and effective presentation skills are also essential.
