About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join our team at JMDA Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for contributing to various phases of the product development process.

With a strong portfolio of work from live projects, you will have a proven ability to execute and deliver projects into the market. Your outstanding sketch ability and demonstrable skill at creating visually compelling concepts will be essential in driving our product design forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to various phases of the product development process
  • Develop innovative product solutions to a high level of design excellence
  • Work on projects for a broad range of international clients
  • Collaborate with the design team to deliver projects on time and to budget
Requirements
  • 4+ years industrial design experience within a studio or in-house
  • Proven ability to execute and deliver projects into the market
  • Outstanding sketch ability with a portfolio displaying your talent
  • Demonstratable skill at creating visually compelling concepts
  • Understanding of mass-manufacturing processes and their limitations
  • Strong CAD surfacing skills (ideally Solidworks)
  • Capable to work around mechanical constraints
  • Able to take charge and manage projects, timelines and client communication
  • A team player, ready to share in the demands of a small business
  • Willingness to support and develop the skills of the younger design team members
