Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Supporting Education Professional to join our team at GSL Education. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our classroom teachers and enhancing the learning experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Classroom Teachers: Provide support to classroom teachers with the delivery of instructional materials and activities.
  • Student Support: Offer one-on-one or small group assistance to students as needed, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Classroom Management: Contribute to maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment, ensuring that students feel safe and supported.
  • Resource Preparation: Prepare and organize classroom resources and materials for lessons, ensuring that they are accessible and engaging for students.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, such as grading and record-keeping, to ensure that our records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and support students' progress, providing feedback and encouragement to help them achieve their goals.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, building trust and respect within our community.
  • Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of classroom management techniques and educational best practices
  • Technology: Proficiency in using educational technology and tools is a plus
