Job Title: Project Manager

UK Power Networks is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Investment Delivery team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery while maintaining the highest levels of safety and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver projects or portfolios of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure construction assurance through audits on quality of work, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures, and safety and environmental procedures.
  • Manage commercial arrangements with contractors to ensure contractual arrangements are met and cost controls are in place.
  • Provide monthly reports, including achievement, costs, and forecasts.
  • Manage portfolio delivery risks and provide early warning to mitigate and manage the level of risk exposure.
  • Contribute and be accountable for assigned portfolio projects for regulatory reporting requirements, including auditing of actual and forecast cost and output data.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure projects are managed from inception to completion.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to provide very high levels of customer service, minimizing customer interruptions and complaints.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing construction or engineering projects of values in the region of 10m plus.
  • Degree in a construction or engineering-related subject or equivalent level of experience.
  • Excellent understanding of construction management best practice.
  • Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Knowledge and experience of Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, and project management techniques.
  • Recognized project management qualification or membership, such as APM or Chartered status.
