Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Lothian Full time

NHS Lothian is dedicated to fostering equality and diversity within our workforce, striving to eliminate any form of unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that our workforce is genuinely representative, allowing every employee to feel valued and empowered to perform at their best.

This position necessitates the post holder to possess a PVG Scheme membership/record. Should the individual not currently hold a PVG membership for the necessary regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult), an application must be submitted to Disclosure Scotland and approved before commencing employment.

We are committed to supporting candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodivergent individuals by implementing reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policies and practices.

NHS Lothian is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours from the previous 37.5 hours, effective from April 2024, with no alterations to pay. This change will also apply on a pro-rata basis for part-time staff. Consequently, this advertisement and any subsequent employment offer will reflect the new working hours. However, due to the varying service areas, some may require you to work an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, for which you will be compensated until the service adjusts its rosters or working patterns.

The role involves:

  • Independently delivering a comprehensive specialist service that includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge for a diverse range of patients.
  • Supervising physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, clinical support staff, and physiotherapy students.
  • Acting as a deputy for the team lead in meetings concerning the specialist clinical area.
  • Creating and conducting training programs for various professionals and caregivers to enhance their understanding of the therapy process and interventions related to managing patients' medical and social needs.

We invite qualified candidates to consider this opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services.
