About the Job

Job Overview

The Engineering Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance of a team of engineers, ensuring project deliverables are met to a high standard. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and develop team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, implementing the Sondrel culture to create a high-performing team and deliver on commitments.
  • Work with the Senior Engineering Manager to create a high-performing team by continuously improving team performance, understanding Sondrel's behaviors, managing employee-related issues, and setting SMART objectives aligned with project deliverables.
  • Take ownership of developing direct reports in their career progression by identifying on-the-job experience, training, and development needs.
  • Liaise with the Senior Engineering Manager to hire to address current and future skills gaps and capability within the team.
  • Communicate and ensure the team understands and adheres to company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle within the team, including onboarding, offboarding, absence, holiday management, and monitoring departmental employee turnover and improving retention.
  • Collaborate with broader engineering teams and engineering management to improve methodologies and adopt best industry working practices.
  • Provide guidance to the team and lead DFT work in projects, covering DFT strategy definition, implementation of DFT structures to meet testability requirements, and verification of implemented DFT structures.
  • Liaise with the Senior Engineering Manager to coordinate representation of Sondrel at universities, conferences, and trade shows, and present technical papers.

Requirements

Essential

A Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a relevant subject.

Desirable

Project management experience or a relevant qualification.

  • Able to coach and mentor others to improve performance.
  • Logic-based implementation and verification.
  • DFT implementation and verification of mixed-signal IPs.
  • Ability to work under pressure with solid organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
