The role of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) involves exercising high levels of clinical judgment and decision-making. The ANP will also provide specialized guidance to healthcare professionals, agencies, caregivers, clients, and their relatives. This role integrates that of an expert clinician, educator, and auditor.

Furthermore, the ANP will lead and enhance services to elevate practice standards, working collaboratively across healthcare sectors to implement and assess evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.
