We are currently seeking a Lead Commercial Strategist to enhance the capabilities of our Commercial team.

The M40 motorway, an award-winning infrastructure, spans 123km and connects major cities. Since 2018, Egis has been instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and safety of this vital route for over 100,000 vehicles daily.

Position Overview

This role will be integral to our senior management team and will report directly to the Transformation Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for systems, processes, and organization, along with the ability to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and achieve consensus.

A strong focus on delivering results, even in challenging situations, is essential to meet project deadlines and objectives.

You will gain insights into the intricacies of our national infrastructure, understanding the critical role of skilled Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in delivering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in both pre and post-contract management, as well as procurement within the realm of commercial contract management.
  • Utilize your expertise in supplier relationships and contract management to enhance supply chain efficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning and Delivery teams to achieve the strategic objectives of assigned portfolios.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in programme reporting and commercial processes, while reviewing, critiquing, and implementing improvements to mitigate risks and enhance profitability.
  • Bring extensive, proven experience in commercial management across various organizations, projects, and programmes.
  • Lead the commercial team, mentoring members to elevate the quality of work and drive improvements across all commercial functions to support efficient delivery and detailed reporting.

Core Services:

The core services provided by the Lead Commercial Strategist are anticipated to include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing, monitoring, and reporting on the commercial and cost-reporting aspects of assigned projects.
  • Supporting programme and project teams in ensuring compliance with contracts and national regulations.
  • Leading the commercial review and valuation of contractor payment applications in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Offering proactive advice and guidance to Programme/Project Managers regarding all changes, including proposed scope alterations, and preparing necessary documentation for approval.
  • Producing relevant commercial correspondence and contractual notices in line with contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring that commercial records are properly maintained and archived upon project completion.
  • Overseeing final account settlements and internal reconciliations as projects conclude.
  • Managing pre-contract procurement processes.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a related field or Associate Membership of a relevant professional institute with Chartered status.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with senior management and departmental leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
