Job Title: Underwriter - Insurance

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Lawes Consulting Group. As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the technical performance of our insurance-backed products meets designated target thresholds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting: Assess and underwrite risks within your level of underwriting authority, escalating to the Underwriting Manager or Partnerships team as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for underwriting inquiries, providing accurate time estimates for resolution.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support to the Commercial function, aiding in the achievement of business financial objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Underwriting Manager to enhance automated underwriting systems and promote operational excellence.
  • Training and Development: Assist in conducting product training sessions for the organization, bridging knowledge gaps and becoming a reliable source of expertise.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in underwriting, preferably within the MGA sector in the UK or EU general insurance domains.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with adept prioritization skills.
  • Possess a technical mind-set with a penchant for analytical problem-solving.
  • Proficient in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Demonstrated awareness and comprehension of the UK and European general insurance landscapes, including regulations and evolving trends.
