Job Title: Trade Surveillance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Surveillance Specialist to join our Compliance team at Jacobson Garner, a leading financial institution based in London. As a key member of the Compliance team, you will be responsible for monitoring trading activities across various asset classes to detect and prevent potential market abuse, insider trading, and other regulatory breaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily surveillance of trading activities across different financial markets to identify potential breaches of market conduct regulations.
  • Investigate alerts generated by the surveillance systems to identify potential breaches of market conduct regulations.
  • Liaise with regulators and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with market abuse regulations.
  • Draft clear and concise reports summarizing investigations and findings.
  • Provide advice and training to front office staff on regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with the broader compliance team to enhance surveillance methodologies and systems.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken).
  • 1 year+ experience in trade surveillance or a similar compliance role within a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of market abuse regulations (MAR) and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
