Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Engineering Services Department. As a CAD Technician, you will provide a drawing support service to the Engineering Functions within Liberty Speciality Steels.

Key responsibilities include composing engineering drawings, managing bill of materials (BOMs), maintaining engineering databases, inspecting engineering components, and providing excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will have an Engineering qualification or significant experience in Engineering drawing, an AutoCAD qualification, and 5+ years' experience in CAD Drawing and document management (Autodesk Vault or similar). Experience with GTX Raster CAD would also be beneficial.

We offer a competitive salary, 39 holiday days, and a range of benefits including a Retail Discount Scheme, up to a combined 16% pension contribution, and access to free parking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a CAD based drawing support service to the Department and Plant Engineers
  • Manage document storage systems, updating the Autodesk Vault system with drawings and manuals
  • Locate drawings from and within our archive department, update records by obsolescing or removing redundant drawings from the system and cross referencing to replacement drawings where necessary
  • Provide guidance to other users of AutoCAD and Vault, and to facilitate the Site Services Certificate process used to identify services and utilities when planning excavations

Requirements

  • Engineering qualification or significant experience in Engineering drawing
  • AutoCAD qualification with 5+ years' experience in CAD Drawing and document management (Autodesk Vault or similar)
  • Experience with GTX Raster CAD would also be beneficial
  • Good communication skills at all levels as a proactive team player
