Job Description

Renishaw is seeking a skilled Development Machinist to join our NPI Team at our manufacturing facility. This role will involve the production of high-quality injection mould tooling, fixtures, and machined parts to support our plastics manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture injection mould tool components with precision and accuracy, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, including drawing interpretation, process development, and tool selection.
  • Liaise with production engineers to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Design and manufacture fixtures to aid in the production of injection mould tools.
  • Support the development of in-house processes, tooling, and DFM guidance.
  • Collaborate with the packaging team to design and manufacture vacuum form tools.
  • Contribute to the improvement of current production processes and tooling for tool repairs.

Requirements

  • HNC (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field.
  • Expert knowledge of CNC manufacturing and manual/automated CMM inspection.
  • Strong understanding of CAM systems and cutting tool selection.
  • High level of computer literacy and practical assembly skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in mould tool manufacture.
  • Broad knowledge of alternative manufacturing processes.
  • Practical experience in injection mould tool construction and assembly.
  • Understanding of the injection moulding process.
  • Experience with NX CAD/CAM systems.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and self-motivated individual with a meticulous approach to work. They will possess excellent team-working skills and be able to confidently discuss design options and their influence on part manufacture.
