If you are seeking a rewarding opportunity within the educational sector, we invite you to consider this role. Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a full-time Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to work in a secondary school that has received a 'good' rating from Ofsted.


The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in supporting students with special educational needs and be flexible in their approach to travel as required.


This role involves working with students in a mainstream secondary school environment, which boasts a robust SEN department actively seeking qualified and experienced support staff.



Key Responsibilities:


- Collaborate with senior Learning Support Assistants and teachers to prepare resources tailored to the individualized learning goals of assigned students.

- Provide both one-on-one and group support under the guidance of the class teacher to facilitate skills-based learning.

- Work closely with the class teacher to monitor and report on student progress using an evidence-based methodology.

- Assist students in understanding their learning objectives and targets, enabling them to practice and acquire new skills while encouraging independence.

- Participate in all aspects of support necessary to ensure students' well-being and their ability to engage in the learning process.

- Fully understand and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.



Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
- A qualification as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
- A degree in Education or a related field is advantageous.

Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Proactive initiative in undertaking responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks effectively.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities efficiently.
