Global Sustainability Lead - Associate Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a passion for sustainability and social value to lead the development of our sustainability strategy and drive the delivery of sustainability services to our clients.

As part of Macro's global Facilities Management (FM) organisation, you will be responsible for leading the development of our sustainability strategy, certifications, and delivery plan, reporting to the QHSEW Director.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the company's carbon footprint reduction programs, waste management, and single-use plastics (SUP) initiatives.
  • Supporting the delivery of sustainability and social value services to existing clients, delivering measurable outcomes for clients.
  • Supporting the work-winning team with sustainability work scopes and RFPs for existing and new clients.
  • Building a team of sustainability consultants to support our growth.
  • Enhancing Macro's sustainability consultancy service offer and identifying new service offers and products to market.

You will represent the company, attending internal and external events to raise the profile of Macro and our sustainability services.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and water reduction projects for existing buildings and FM services.
  • Good working knowledge of additional sustainability services such as social value and waste management and recycling.
  • Ability to research new technologies and respond to new and changing market demands and opportunities.
  • Motivational skills to build a team of sustainability experts and upskill colleagues.
  • Integrity and ability to build trusted relationships and share knowledge through collaboration with facility operations, projects teams, and business development and central teams.
  • Commercial acumen to understand commercial drivers and deliver commercial benefits for our clients.

Additional responsibilities include building certifications such as LEED, BREAM, or WELL for existing buildings in operation, energy management, energy efficiency auditing, and carbon accounting, and business development and bidding.
