Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at Building Recruitment Company. As a Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in assisting our client, a Housing Association, in carrying out stock condition surveys to improve the energy performance of their properties.

Main Responsibilities
  • Stock Condition Surveys: Conduct thorough surveys of the Housing Association's stock in South Devon to identify areas for improvement.
  • Energy Performance Surveys: Arrange and undertake energy performance surveys and assessments to assist with the delivery of energy improvement works to stock.
  • Asset Management: Review the lifecycle and renewal of windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms, and general cyclical decorations to ensure the Housing Association's properties remain in good condition.
  • Risk Assessments: Undertake risk assessments in accordance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and take appropriate action to mitigate any findings.
  • Survey and Specification: Conduct surveys, prepare work specifications and schedules, and liaise with contractors to arrange for works to be carried out.
  • CDM Regulations: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with CDM regulations.
  • Party Wall and Asbestos: Identify and issue party wall and other notices when required, and organize the removal of asbestos in both void and tenanted properties.
  • Financial Management: Certify interim and final accounts in respect of contracts/works under supervision in accordance with approved Financial Regulations.
  • Customer Liaison: Liaise and communicate with tenants, tenant groups, leaseholders, and tenant associations to ensure high customer satisfaction returns.

Requirements
  • A full UK Driving Licence
  • HND/HNC in surveying or previous experience in a similar role
