Job Title: Senior Asset Risk and Investment Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Asset Risk and Investment Engineer to join our team at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a safe, secure, and reliable transmission network in Scotland.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a data-focused professional to utilise risk-based models and business cases to optimise and justify engineering investments in our network. You will be responsible for delivering investment whole life modelling and business cases, factoring in asset condition, network risk, and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement risk-based investment plans aligned to outage plans, asset condition, and whole system development.
  • Utilise Asset Management data tools such as CBRM, Maximo, and ArcGIS to analyse assets and inform investment decisions.
  • Participate in regulatory engagement, including reporting to Ofgem and ensuring investment in the network is compliant with statutory, regulatory, and licence requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver investment projects and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced understanding and significant experience in managing asset risk and investment models for physical assets.
  • High level of technical competency in carrying out investment appraisals, cost benefit analysis, economic modelling, and data analysis.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, business, or finance.
  • Desirable: Institute of Asset Management qualification, Chartership status, and experience of ISO 55000.
