Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our Valuations Methodology Team, part of the Product Control Department at Royal Bank of Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for automating valuations processes using Python, working closely with senior members of the team, Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS), and the business to create innovative technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Python scripts to automate valuations processes
  • Collaborate with the Analytics Integration Services (AIS) team to build and maintain pricing libraries and stack libraries for valuations
  • Implement error management checks to ensure smooth running of processes
  • Document code to ensure accessibility for senior management
  • Review and comment on code developed by other team members
  • Interact with stakeholders to push libraries into production
  • Assist in coordinating project structure and mentor junior team members

Requirements

  • Strong Python programming experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong code review skills
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Good knowledge of interest rate derivatives or equity derivatives
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of interest rate and equity pricing models
  • Experience in using and manipulating quants pricing libraries
  • Experience in leading a small team or mentoring junior team members
