About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Public Relations Account Coordinator to join our team at Karla Otto, a renowned public relations and communications agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the day-to-day account functions within the hospitality division, achieving traditional and social media exposure, and supporting the development of creative and considered press collateral.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the running of day-to-day account functions within the hospitality division, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve traditional and social media exposure, targeting key titles and influencers in the hospitality industry.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop engaging press releases, copy, and other press collateral that effectively communicates the client's message.
  • Maintain regular communications with key contacts within the hospitality industry, including travel, F&B, design, and trade press, as well as KOLs and tastemakers in relevant verticals.
  • Manage incoming reactive enquiries from external partners to ensure all opportunities are maximized for client and agency benefit.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and the Karla Otto brand is represented in a positive light.
  • Provide administrative support, including monthly and weekly reporting, call agendas and recaps, and maintaining the hospitality team's contact database.
  • Track and clip media coverage of clients, staying attuned to sector trends and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Assist in preparing and executing on-site client events, including hosting international press and influencer trips as needed.
  • Participate in internal and cross-agency brainstorms, maintaining an active interest in the verticals represented by Karla Otto.
  • Develop relevant competitor analysis to inform commercial decision-making by the wider team.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Junior Account Executive/Accounts Assistant/PR Assistant in a fast-paced agency/in-house environment, ideally within travel or restaurant PR.
  • Strong relationships with press and industry peers, with a keen understanding of media relations, influencer relations, and relevant strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), research, and organization skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritizing own work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude to challenging situations, with a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver outstanding results.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
