Job Title: Community Fundraising Events Officer

Merrifield Consultants is partnering with Cherry Trees, a charity providing home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities and a meaningful break for their families across Surrey and the surrounding areas.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community and Events Fundraiser to join our small but growing team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of planning and delivering successful community and events fundraising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community and events fundraising strategy to engage with existing and potential supporters.
  • Plan and deliver a range of events, including golf days, live music events, and a Christmas market, to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, community groups, and individuals to secure sponsorship and donations.
  • Manage the charity's events programme, including the Challenge Events programme, which includes partnerships with Choose a Challenge and Run for Charity.
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of fundraising events and campaigns, using data and insights to inform future strategies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of planning and delivering successful community and events fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of the impact of good storytelling.
  • Event marketing experience, including understanding of tools, systems, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience of using a CRM and the importance of using data to provide insights and inform fundraising strategies.
