Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Conservation Policy Officer to support the expansion of our policy activities, including CITES and CBD initiatives. The successful candidate will provide project support and coordination for two new projects focused on data gathering for African timber species and a behavior change campaign addressing the illegal plant trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project management and coordination support for policy activities, including CITES and CBD initiatives.
- Support data gathering and analysis for African timber species projects.
- Contribute to the development of behavior change campaigns addressing the illegal plant trade.
- Collaborate with international partners and stakeholders to advance conservation policy goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and industry partners.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in conservation policy, project management, and communication.
- Strong understanding of CITES and CBD regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multinational environment.
- Strong networking and partnership-building skills.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary range of £27,000-£30,000 per annum.
- A 12-month fixed appointment with potential for extension depending on funding.
- A hybrid working arrangement with opportunities for remote work.
