We are currently in search of a Waste Transportation Specialist who will report directly to the Transport Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the professional and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of waste for our clients, while strictly adhering to health and safety regulations and company protocols.
The incumbent will be tasked with the effective management of waste logistics, ensuring that all operations align with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
To operate and drive vehicles as instructed by the traffic office and operations manager, ensuring the effective collection, transportation, and disposal of waste. To comply with company policies and procedures, particularly health and safety guidelines, promoting safe practices and reporting any near misses. To conduct routine inspections of vehicles in a timely manner, reporting any defects as necessary. To accurately complete all required documentation, including daily logs, in a timely fashion. To provide cover for colleagues during sickness, breakdowns, and holidays as needed. To participate in training sessions, team meetings, and safety briefings as required, ensuring that skills and knowledge remain current. To foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal teams and external clients, delivering exceptional customer service consistently. To undertake any other reasonable job-related tasks, including ad hoc duties as required.Qualifications and Experience
Prior experience in Class 1/2 drivingDCPC certificationEducation & Credentials
Class 1/2 LGV License Valid ADR qualification (Desirable)Skills and Attributes
Proficient in safely maneuvering LGVs in restricted and confined areas Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Willingness to work away from home regularly, including overnight stays in the vehicle Exceptional customer service capabilities Well-developed interpersonal skills Effective communication skillsTransforming Waste Management
