As a vital member of the Trade Finance Operations team at Crown Agents Bank, you will oversee and manage the daily processing of trade finance transactions while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and departmental procedures. This role is designed for an experienced professional who is ready to take on additional responsibilities in the team's daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the complete lifecycle of Trade Finance products, which includes:
- Advising and amending Letters of Credit (L/C)
- Conducting thorough document examinations
- Processing reimbursement claims and payments efficiently
- Addressing inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders
- Managing guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs)
- Reviewing drafts for L/Cs and guarantees
- Evaluating and processing risk participation and facility documentation
- Facilitating trade loans, refinancing, and discounting activities
- Exhibiting a solid understanding of forfaiting
- Recognizing operational risks and implementing measures to mitigate them
- Providing timely and effective responses to queries from internal and external parties
- Taking initiative to enhance team workflow, ensuring thorough audit trails and precise record-keeping
- Maintaining up-to-date Management Information (MI) and ensuring regular updates of all reports
- Possessing a strong understanding of trade-based money laundering and the ability to identify potential red flags in trade transactions.
Qualifications
- A graduate or postgraduate degree is required; CDCS/CSDG certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in Trade Finance Operations.
- In-depth knowledge of Trade Finance and familiarity with relevant ICC regulations, including:
UCP600 - Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits
URDG 758 - Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees
URR 725 - Bank-to-Bank Reimbursements under Documentary Credits
ISBP 745 - International Standard Banking Practice
ISP98 - International Standby Practices
URF 800 - Uniform Rules for Forfaiting
- Ability to confidently fulfill key responsibilities to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- A proactive self-starter who collaborates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
