Due to ongoing success and a strategic growth plan, they are looking to add a motivated and skilled multi-disciplinary, electrically focused Field Service and Commissioning Technician to their Industrial Automation and Projects team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Field Service and Commissioning Technician, you will be engaged in the control system sector, undertaking a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Verifying that installed equipment meets the required standards before commencing testing, including checking installations against schematics and noting any discrepancies.
  • Ensuring that the termination of plant equipment cables into outstations complies with the standards outlined in the Code of Practice and compiling a snag list.
  • Conducting system tests in accordance with the Installation and Commissioning Test (ICT) documentation.
  • Performing fault diagnosis, modifications, and debugging of PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Setting up and testing devices, including configuring sensors and verifying system operations.
  • Executing client Site Acceptance Testing and conducting comprehensive operational control tests for each system, including testing integrated system functionality and site-wide failure scenarios.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of an HND qualification or equivalent in electrical or control engineering.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in testing electrical control systems.
  • A valid UK driving license and a clean criminal record, as security clearances are necessary.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.
Work Environment

This role is field-based, covering the UK and occasionally Europe, and is best suited for individuals located in the Midlands or Southern regions, particularly those who are adaptable to travel and work away from home.
