Transport Operations Manager

Wincanton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Team Manager to lead our transport operations team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport fleet, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, direction, and support to the transport team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Transport Operations: Manage the company's fleet of vehicles, including maintenance, repair, and inspection schedules, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Customer Service: Ensure that customer service standards are met or exceeded by the transport team, handling customer queries, complaints, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing transport operations, identifying potential risks, hazards, and vulnerabilities, and implementing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to transport operations, preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, providing insights, trends, and recommendations for improving transport performance and efficiency.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in transport management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and driving operational excellence.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
- Organisational and Analytical Skills: Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
