Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant seeking a rewarding opportunity?

U-Educate is currently in search of a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialized educational setting. This position is part-time and permanent.

Role Overview

  • Oversee students on an individual or small group basis
  • Deliver tailored learning assistance as required
  • Support may include personal care responsibilities
  • Assist students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • Inspire, engage, and motivate students to achieve their learning goals
  • Ensure students remain focused and are progressing towards their lesson objectives
  • Provide constructive feedback to the classroom educator regarding student development
  • Implement individual Educational, Social, Behavioral, and Personal Care Plans
  • Attend to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an educational environment supporting students with SEN
  • Possession of Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experience with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and SEMH
  • Capability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for working with children
  • Current Safeguarding Training (available through U-Educate if not certified within the last year)
